Mike "Mr Cricket" Pawley
Mike Pawley is philanthropist and former Australian professional cricketer. He played professional grade cricket for Manly from a young age, as well as 11 first-class cricket matches for New South Wales between 1969/70 and 1973/74.
Truth be told, our business all began when Mike started selling homemade lemonade on the front lawn of his childhood home as a 5 year old! He simply loved playing "shops", and in 1975 he opened his first retail sports store on the Northern Beaches and there's been no turning back since then!
Driven by a relentless passion and enthusiasm to help others, Mike's unique modus operandi has helped his brand become synonymous with excellent customer service, incredible bargains, and expert guidance in the retail sporting business.
Mike holds life memberships with the NSW Cricket Association, Manly Warringah Cricket Association and Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association and has had a significant involvement in coaching cricket on the Northern Beaches for almost 65 years!
Mike's contribution to cricket and sport in general was recognised in 2008 with the naming of the sporting fields in Stirgess Ave, Curl Curl to "The Mike Pawley Oval". And on Australia Day, 2012, Mike was acknowledged for his “service to the sport of cricket in the Manly Warringah area” with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), one of the highest honours bestowed by the Australian government.

We have 3 stores on the Northern Beaches - Dee Why, Manly Vale and Mona Vale - where our friendly, knowledgeable staff are ready to give expert guidance and ensure you find the perfect fit and equipment for your sport.
Giving back to the community for 50 years!
In addition to retail, Mike Pawley Sports has proudly supported local communities and charities across the Northern Beaches and further afield for 50 years. We are deeply invested in grassroots sports and believe in promoting physical activity as a key part of youth development and community wellbeing. We supply sporting gear and equipment to schools, sporting clubs, junior development programs and charitable organisations, including those further afield including the Sierre Leone Junior Cricket Association since 2008.
In 2012, Mike Pawley Sports founded the Happy Days Cambodian Village School Inc charity, an Australian Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to supporting one of the poorest rural village communities in Siem Reap, Cambodia. As principal sponsor, we aim to help the charity raise vital funds to give thousands of children the chance to pursue an education despite the challenges of extreme poverty.
